ok im apparently a dope. let me preface this by saying I don't own a coal poker. anyway I was using the coal shovel to break up the bridgeing and bad ash deposit in the back of the stove that was clogging up the grate and leading to a terrible half burn. when I pulled the shovel out it was glowing bright red and folded perfectly in half back on itself. (hmmmm maybe if I hammer it and keep repeating the process I can make a folded steel shovel like they do with the japanese katana swords)
