Oops I Think I Got to Big of Chunks
So when I went to get more coal I told them the last yard the lump was too small and I ended up with a lot of shake so I told them I wanted bigger pieces maybe I shouldn't have said that. Btw that's a 24 inch level for size comparison. And that's not the biggest piece

Wow, those are some good ones
I just use a regular chisel.
What's the Best Way to Break up Large Pieces of Bit Coal?
Never thought of using an air chisel

Haha dude that is so awesome ! I'm sorry but I laughed so hard when I read this . It should split pretty easy. Are you stuck with it? What did you say to the guy when it brought it?
Well I told him bigger was better cuz I could break it up I just wasn't expecting that big but I didn't say anything else to him I'm not to worried about it I'd much rather have this then all the shake I got last trip I just thought I'd share some of my spoils of war with the forum
Between these two tools it seems like I will be able to break it down easy enough the one is a slide hammer splitting maul and the air chisel works once you get them broke down alittle harbor freight is a great store.

Are the pieces real hard like anthracite or do they break up pretty quickly with a single smack of the maul ?
How long do you think it will take to break up the entire load and how many tons is the load ?
How does it compare to splitting wood ?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm not familiar with bit coal.
