A Little Bit Excited

Hello all,

I finally sold my Flam stove four weeks ago, and the next saturday I went off to the dealer and orderd a Efel Bastogne
coal stove.
And next week I can expect a call for delivery. I hope it is not delayed, because it is top season for the dealers.
I started last spring selling the stove, but basicly people are stupid, and wait till it is cold and then try to find a stove, wile
they know they need another one before the next winter.
After one week using the central heating on natural gas, I have had with it.
Not the cosey warmth I am used to, and I have to buy the gas, wile I have the coal and payed for it in the backyard.

So a few weeks before I had purchased a little stove, and cleaned it as quick as I can and installed it, and have now
the warmth in the house I want en need

Congrats on your new stove. I am sure it will serve you well! I like the stove in the pictures you posted as well.

Very stylish. I like the installation. Not sure what the seasons are like in your country, but it looks like it'll keep you comfortable.

It is not as cold as what most of you experience, but for the winter this little stove is a bit too little.
But for now it is big enough to roast me out of the house, with a tiny bit of coal.
Wich makes me happy.

That little enamaled stove is beautiful.The castings appear smooth and well reinforced with ample contour. What is the brand name of the stove? Mike

The stove is a Altan, it seem to be a Turkish stove brand.
I bougth it by mistake on E-bay for 50 euro's, the mistake was that I didn't see it was in Bavaria
wich is a 700Km. drive one way for me.

The stove is rated 5 KW. wich is enough for me now.
He burns bituminous coal realy wel.

Peter, what are the temperatures in Holland this time of year? Nice looking stove, well made. Just as you experienced, everyone here waits until the very LAST moment to get a stove, boiler, or fuel for them.
Perhaps you can come over to New York and New Jersey and assist with levee/dike construction management. We have a horrible mess from Sandy, and winter is nearly here, NO FUN!

I have done the drive from Amsterdam to Bavaria myself and enjoyed it very much. Knowing the good beer that was waiting for me helped too! Seriously though I really like that stove in the pictures. Too bad it isn't big enough to suit your needs. If you don't mind tell us about the coal you get in Holland. Do you burn those "coal briquettes" that are made from compressed coal?

Hey JP, if your stove is a little "undersized", maybe you could find a twin, and mount it at the other end of your house.

At this moment we have 10 degrees C. on the day, and 5 at night.
But the forecast is a little nightfrost for the coming nights.
I wish I good help with the dikes but iam only a quality inspector in a machineshop.
Altough with 4 years experience with excavators,but that is a other story of my life.

One Dollar, I enjoyed the drive to bavaria too but it become quit a drive because I planned a weekend trip for it
but when I was there I become restless and went home, when I was near the Dutch border I have got a call that my
daughter in law was in labor, now I knew I was restless.
At this moment I burn bituminous coal from Poland, but I have access to antracit from Germany wich is verry pricy.
I have used some lignite briquettes in my former stove to let it burn overnight.
The house has only 1 chimney, so a second stove is not realy a option.
