Up and Running Again!

Modern and vintage hand fired coal stove are similar to a wood stove and in some cases can burn either. They need to be regulated and fed by hand usually every 12 to 24 hours depending on your usage. They require no power to operate making them ideal for rural settings with long power outages.

I shut down a month ago. With the mid day highs and lows in the 40's, running the natural gas furnace is cheap enough. I would probably waste fuel using the stove now.
I usually run mid november through feb. March varies yearly depending on the year. This year is wicked warm.
I pick coal up and put it down.............in my stove!
