I'm still in! At this rate, that large bag of cowboy will last about four more years! :-)
I'm about six bags into my third pallet of Blacshak.

windago wrote:one match from October. this year was weird. house temps are in the 75 to 85 range. I had to use the window damper lots of times. once had all the windows open for half the day just to keep the house at 80. it was 32 out side that day. I all most thought of getting a smaller stove. I said all most. I hope this year will be the last year for the hand fired. finally going to a coal boiler. although I will not sell of the Harman just yet. this summer will be the learning curve for the boiler, just for DHW. so if I can keep it running for the summer I should have no problems firing it for the winter. besides I don't want to run in to problems that I have to fix when its cold out side. gremlins are always going to show them self's when you least expect it.

sitting here in shorts and a tee with the window open. man I love coal! :verycool: :smoke:
Burn Pea...It works for those mild temps..My MkIII feels like it is out during the day it burns so slow but never goes out. At night I open it up. I used to open windows too. No more.

Was doing fine until about 3 weeks ago when the grates got stuck. Cleaned it out and started up again.
Still better than I used to do, thanks to tips from the forum.

Not me. I lost that privilege when I changed the gaskets on the stove. But some would argue that I was never in the club anyway;because I burned some wood earlier in the season.

This is not a political discussion where nobody has a clue who's saying what. toothy It's from your first coal burn till the end of the season. ;)

I guess apparently we need a defintion of the one match club lol
Heres what I've come up with -

One Match Club : /noun/ A group of supreme beings who have maintained the same fire which was started at the beginning of the heating season. This fire must never have become completely extinguished, purposely or accidently. Any means taken to revive a dying or nearly dead fire, weather it be CPR, draft induction, wood kindled back to life is acceptable. Please don't throw kerosene on it though. The heating season usuaully, but not always, spans from mid October to mid April, depending on location..

There.. Simple and to the point.. Feel free to elaborate :P
Maybe next year I can be one of the elite few :notworthy:
