I'm going to guess that is some other stoker manufacturer's stoker...not made by CRANE.
Get us some better detailed pictures of just the stoker mechanism and we'll go from there.
Can see it has a *carpet* type pusher...Reading TriBurner...maybe???

I switched from beer to coffee, but just for this morning, interestingly enough, I found something:
Does it have this mechanism inside, the grate looks like my friend's stove, and he tells me it's a triburner plate 35 000 BTU:
In one of your picture , I can see part of a carpet at the back
The other picture with the four studs sticking out, appears to what he has on his Triburner as a feeder mechanism like the one in the Youtube video.
Let 's see picture of the blower, I bet, it's not just a blower, but part of the feeder as well, split into two pieces

jerryf, the stove had been listed in uncle henry's, and craigslist maine and unfortunately it's no longer there, good luck with stove.....and for some reason they called it a crane cooker instead a stoker.

The *blower* as you call it, and the coal hopper to hold the rice coal are missing from your photos. You appear to have a older, smaller TriBurner style that separates into 2 pieces.
Here is what the 85,000 btu/hr one piece looks like:
no hopper shown, hopper would sit above black throat opening outside the stove.

Actually that's what I thought at first too. It was a home made stoker conversion. But looking back at the pix I can see the placard on the back of that 404 stating it's a stoker so they must have made a few that way?beemerboy wrote:That stove looks like someone converted it from being a hand fired to a stoker.
The 404 that I have and according to the owners manual the stove would be hand fired.
So heres what I think I have learned
This stove came this way.....
The hopper is in the top and fills from the top.
The blower on the back blows air in the burning channel, which has holes in it for air.
The blower also has an actuator that spins what Im guessing is a screw in the hopper box that drops coal onto the u channel. Ash drops off the front.
The is no ash try, and no firebox or bricks in the unit.
The blower does not have an on off switch. When it is plugged in it blows and the actuator spins.
Theres a heat shield that hangs on the inside to keep the coal hopper from getting to hot.
It looks to me like all the parts are there sans new glass which I have.
So looks like I have a stove no one has seen before....which is kinda cool. We are gonna try to fire this one first before we try to get the 303 going.
I'll let everyone know how it goes!
Thanks for the great info.......keep it coming....the more I know the better.

I have the same stoker stove sitting in my garage. My wife's uncle gave it to me when he decided he didn't want to fix/use it. I'm missing the electronic controller in your pictures. He said when he got it there was just a potentiometer on a separate cord going to the feeder motor. Does yours have a speed control of any sort for the feeder, or do you think the feed adjustment is mechanical? He also gave me a hopper that fits on top of the stove. It's nice to know that there's at least one other of these around. I looked for info a while back and couldn't find much of anything.
