I didn't use it for that but that is probably a good idea! Since my nickel is "well used" I didn't bother after using polish. I would say that it would work quite well for that since people have used laquer for that same purpose (on decorative pieces). Not really sure but it seems like it would work well for that. Maybe Emery will see this and give his opinion. He's the one who told me about the Thurmalox.
