Was wondering if anyone has ever burned those fireplace logs in their coal stove, I have a MK II I just redone and I have been thinking of burning up what I have left on some chilly evenings, will they dirty up the glass any comments

thanks
Chet

I assume you're talking about the Duraflame logs? I believe that's a BAD idea. Those logs are made from wax and sawdust pressed together. The enclosed heat within the stove will melt the wax binder out, which will run everywhere, and probably start burning uncontrollably. Read the package, I'm guessing it warns against using them in a stove.

If the logs you have are only pressed wood/coal/etc. mixture, that might be ok. It's that wax binder you need to watch out for.

Burn them in a fireplace, give them away or throw them out. Don't burn them in a stove.
