Well, with the failed energy policies of past and current administrations rearing its ugly head again, is anybody stockpiling anthracite to head off any potential supply disruptions to either more restrictions from Pharoh Obama or increased costs due to rising diesel/delivery costs? I still have 3 skids of anthracite left over from this winter (7200#), and my local distributer called to ask if I wanted his remaining 3 skids of nut coal that he was trying to clear from his warehouse. I took them, so now I have 6 skids on hand, and I guess that means I'm stockpiling. Perhaps not a bad thing, although I'm not a worry-monger by any means. Just sort of worked out that way.

I was also looking at higher pricing due to fuel cost for shipping so a month ago I got my 5 ton for next year, it had already gone up $10 a ton from my last order last June.

I think that anyone that has the financial ability & the physical space to STOCKPILE at this point & doesn't, is being foolish. Unfortunately I have the physical, but not the monetary or I would be checking out TT prices. I like fastcat am set for next season but am concerned over where pricing is undoubtedly heading
Cost is often a driving factor in the amount you have on hand. Having a little extra on hand as a buffer IMO is a good thing if you can afford to do so. Also, distance is another factor, if one lives far from NEPA it just makes good financial sense due to the transportation costs involved. It's all based on individual situations.

I do not have the space nor the monetary stability to stockpile. So, I am stuck with rising costs into the foreseeable future. But, I'd rather pay high coal costs instead of burning wood or paying the oil man.

I live in the Wilkes-barre PA. area, and I plan on getting from my supplier in May, 5 or 6 ton of nut, and store it in my outside bin. I'm not going to wait until the fall to do so. Who knows what the price per ton will be then!

Well. I think we will get all the coal we want, however, Obummer has raised a billion dollars for his reelection campaign and so we might get another four years so I am definitely stocking up, in fact I'm buying out the whole store.

You bet! Built a 23 x7 coal shed last year. 5000lbs in there now and purchased another 7500 last week. Money in the bank, is like coal in the shed.
