I have just put in my new stove, a saey hannover I. It is a million times better than my vogelzang pot belly. After the install I had everything working correctly, but I want to adjust my baro and do not have a manometer. Is it possible to rent them from some where? is there a trick that you can set it without a manometer and get it close enough for goverment work??? I will post pics tonight to show off the new addition to the family. I would like to get all the kinks worked out, so next winter I will simply sit and enjoy watching all the oil tankers drive right on by my house.

I'm thinking about getting it, I have a two friends that just got coal stoves, so I will def get some use out of it. How do you test your stove & when should you do it?

you leave it connected permanently and glance at it always! after finite adjustments you just smile as the winds come and go and the red juice is "steady as she goes" ! 8-)

then almost forget about time...

If you have the Fieldcontrols Type RC. When I set the adjsting knob (weight) so the centerline of the knob is right on 3, It holds a steady draft of .03 inches of water column. I have a manometer and it is important to have so you can make sure your draft doesn't drop below .02, or the fire will suffer and you might possibly get CO released into the house. Low draft can occur when running a low fire in warm weather.

Also, make sure you open you manual pipe damper (if you have one) all the way on warm days.
