I had to spoil my one match season tonite. the grates in my vigilant jammed in the open position, and they wouldn't return to level. So I had to let the fire go out and clean it out and start over. Found 3 hunks of granite , one small enough to wedge between the grates which locked them up. I thought I might have clinkers that were jamming it up, but no clinkers, just some nice solid rocks. Been burning Blashack nut till recently, when I returned to pea. the rocks were the size of large nut coal, and the triangular shaped one was the culprit.

So I must confess, I'm out of the one match club, as I had to start the resolute a few weeks ago, due to forgetting to load it after shaking down.

Oh well, there's always next season.......................................................

I think in the case of your Vigilant, they call them Mulligan Rocks  Wasn't your fault. Now about the Resolute ... check your PMs ;)
