Right, but even in the lower 50s, my baro still isn't completely closed. That tells me I must still have a good and sufficient draft, no? That's all I meant, that I see no need to cover the baro in my particular case...

Calling for 61F today though and possible showers. Think I may open the MPD today. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Joe

I've had my MPD open all the way since Wednesday night when I knew it was going to be warm. I've foiled my Baro but I did notice it has been closed since yesterday and hasn't opened at all. Remember, I have an 18' chimney and several trees so I'm sure my draft isn't nearly as good as it is when cold.

I will however be opening the air up tonight an closing the MPD since it's going to be colder tonight and tomorrow.

Yup, it's currently 46*. A few more degrees and the stove temp will go up and the MPD will be closed again. The wind is also starting to pickup.

I actually just closed the last of the windowstats as the breeze was a bit too cold now.

I am with you John, my son let the Harman fade away two days ago. I have a oak fire going now, and ready to shovel some coal. This is too much like work come early spring

Stoker boilers really shine on days like this. My hand-fed boiler used to roast us on 40 degree days, the EFM just sleeps...
