Hi , To answer your question about bituminous coal in the uk , the answer is yes it is sold at present for certain areas in the uk where it isn’t classed as a smoke free zone . A law was introduced in the 1960s that outlawed the burning of bituminous coal in built up city’s and towns , now I think sometime either later this year or in 2022 all burning of bituminous coal for household use will be banned . As I live in a small village it is still classed a smoke free zone , so I have only ever burned man made smokeless ovoids , or in my baseburner anthracite, which is still mined in Wales .
