Hi All,
Well the Glenwood has been purrin along so well since day 1 that I got complacent..today after workin 12 hrs. and having to to go to town for this an that I went to bed..I totally forgot to check the fire here at the shop when I got home!
So when the light bulb did come on..I was like OHHH POOP!...
Came down to the shop and after goin bought 22 hrs ...she was mostly ash with a small bunch of red coals in one spot in the fire bed.
So I opened the air wide open on all fronts ..an let her revive what little bit of fuel that was left for bought 10 minutes and gently shook her down, it was NOT LOOKING GOOD...just a small cluster of red coals left ..so I put some paper and cardboard on top of the coals and added some 3X5" blocks of red oak ...an hoped she would take off on her own ...after a few minutes POOF she took fire :D
So after an hour of babysitting we are back to normal now..she is pickin up an the Blue ladies are dancing.
Thought I WAS GONNA HAVE TO GET OUT ANOTHER MATCH!!!....but didnt have too :D

I'm not confessing how many times I've been there .... (maybe because it's too many to remember - LOL)

I always have small pile of wood ready for a save .... Glad you kept it going..

i guess i'm too proud to throw in paper/wood at that point, I usually try to nurse
it back and end up taking way too long when I should just dump and restart.
next time i'll throw some wood in and see how things go, but if it's that low
of a fire, there' so much ash , I don't have great confidence in getting everything
shook down thru. but then again, maybe what is left will burn down into
more ash and shake down ok.?
