hi everyone,I bought a used hitzer 75 this summer and having nothing but trouble with it.I am getting mini explosions in the fire box and its fill ing my basement with smoke. at the same time my stove pipe going into my flue is getting super hot 700deg plus whats going on?if I turn my stove pipe damper back and forth it seems to cool it down a little bit.but it was closed when the infurno started I think my auto damper is working as it should. although my when I close my damper at my lever it seems to pick up intensity.is there anyone that knows these stoves?im not sure what to do.i burn seasond dry wood.

I bought a #75 for my garage as well & haven`t used it much but have had no problems, perhaps to have too much air going in make sure your chain is adjusted properly & not sticking open.

In my experience those stoves will burn wood...but not very well. They are intended to burn coal.

It is basically to same stove as the #82, the only difference I`ve found so far was the #82 has another horizontal row of firebrick on top of the vertical ones creating a deeper coal bed area & protecting the sides better. Dean from Hitzer sent me the download for the 82 & said most other parts are the same. I hope it burns wood well, it did with the small amts. I had & I plan to get some firewood simply because I don`t need long burn times out there on the norm.
