i have 2 thermometers, one for pipe and other for stove. I have it on the front of the stove by the door, should it be on the sides or top?

I have a 50-93 as well, I have thermometer on the stack about 18 inches above the outlet, and the other one is on the front next to the door. I did not think on top would be good since I have the stove with a blower, and there is space in between the top and the firebox were the air blows through it.
