Quite a difference from the south-down the shore-to the hills where I am.

Yea, the Ocean really influences the weather. The water is still relatively warm, so the coastal areas stay "warm" Only down to the upper 40s so far. My house is pretty well insulated so if its in the 60s by day, then the 40s don't make it too cold in here. Its funny how in the spring when the ocean is cold the air inland could be in the 70s and we are in the low 50s. aaah the coastal weather...

Yup... fired up a week ago, woke up Sunday morning (10/10/10) to hear the oil boiler running, no sense in burning oil when coal is cheaper. Got painting projects going on in the shop so, fired up the Chubby too.

Fired up the Hitzer yesterday. I use a Toyostove (like a Monitor) for late spring and early fall heat. The Toyostove was starting to run quite a bit and the forcast is for freezing temps at night later this week. I decided at $3.00 per gal. for kerosene that it was time to burn a little coal. Besides I was looking forward to getting wonderful radiant heat of the coal stove going anyway. :)

I've been burning 24/7 since Oct. first thanks to Pea coal..I got almost 4 ton this year and 2 1/2 ton Nut.
Nut right now would be too hot no matter how I set the draft. It's 27 F now here and 2K sq ft house is just right. Highs in the 50's today lows down to low 30's.
The Harman MKIII is a huge stove and when it's 20 below and burning nut the house is toasty as well.

Yeah, its definitely a lot colder where I am too. I also have to say that I've been burning nut and when I get home my house is around 80° especially since I've insulated my son's room.
