It did from last year--this yr I was just older & boreder--I specifically do the black pipe from stove to ceiling---the stove could probably go a couple yrs---"an ounce of prevention

Just lightly scuff the surface so the paint has something to hang on to, & you'll never have a problem. Just don't use 40 grit ...

Going to paint my Chubby. Do I need to use a primer under the topcoat ? Planning on using Stove Bright red or green. This is my second Chubby that I just picked up on Craig's List (Maine). I was lucky that a few board members did not see this one, as it was a top vent with new pot and grate in good shape. Thanks for any information and suggestions.

I too was wondering about this as I now have to repaint my Chubby since all of the paint has burned off.

If I remember right you used multiple coats, I don't think that is recommended. Go to the Stove Brite site and read what they recommend. Thick coatings will tend to curl up and flake. I have had good results with Rustoleum brush on paint intended for barbecues. One brushed out coat.

Yeah, I did have a lot of coats. I had six of black and six of Mojave Red. I'm going to check what they recommend.
