Hand Fed Coal Stove: Gibraltar LCC

Got home from work, did some odds and ends, figure I would shake the coal stove and in the process, I hit a clinker/clanker/etc... and the grates pooped out of the track. Ugh, complete shut down, wait till it got cold enough, shop vac it all out, reinstall the grates. Built a wood fire, slowly add coal. I guess it was still better than writing a check for oil. LOL

Yep -- a bad day burning coal beats a good day burning oil ANYTIME! 8-)

The best part, I could not remember how the shaker attachment went on the main shaker, in the front or back. If it wasn't 11pm, I would of have called J.C. Heck, I even pulled out the owner's manual and it was very vague in the picture. O well.... I put it on the front and tested the shakers and didn't see any movement in the piece and the shakers seemed fine. I am sure I can do this a 2nd time. lol

yea that always sucks......the grates on my roomates kenmore keep coming out......the part that the grates mount to is worn out......i suggested they install my warm morning in the house, but they don't like that stove cause "it's a pain in the ass to load"....... o well.....i still have a backup in the shop ready to fire up if needed.

Grate shaker rod goes threw the front hole on center grate not from the back You shook the grates to far short quick choppy stokes that's all you need to do once a day . 11 Pm that is not late next time call
