Hand Fed Coal Stove: Hitzer 30-95

Google has no links to it ?

After much reading and changin my mind - Ive decided that the Chubby stove is the best way for me to get 50K + BTUs onto my second floor without having to lug a 500# monster up 2 flights of narrow steps.
Ill leave the 500# Hitzer in the basement and carry a 200# Chubby to my 2nd floor bedroom instead.

Don't you lug that 200 lb 'Chubby' upstairs every night? :D

I'm from Pgh. not Maine so my cold season is only December thru March. I won't leave the stoves in the rooms during the warm season.
I've called on my buddies 4 times already to load/unload stoves into my basement. They will not appreciate lugging the Hitzer up two flights only to be asked to bring it back down in the spring.

I like being able to load unload and move up/down stairs all by myself with my U-Haul dolly. A 200# chubby will seem like a coffee can compared to two monsters in the basement.

Hey... is there a support group here for people who collect stoves compulsively ? My GF thinks I'm NUTS for owning so many stoves.

I think it's more of a hobby and what better hobby to have than one that doesn't require lots of work and time (like processing wood) and keeps you/family warm and saves money. :)

Be careful with putting a solid fuel device in a bedroom, most codes don't

permit it in new installations.

Even with putting that stove on the second floor just think about the TONS OF COAL & ASH

that you will have to carry up and down over the heating season!!!
