Shaker Question
On my old stove I have to turn 4 triangles on the outside of the stove. These can get really HOT and are very hard to turn by hand. I'm sure there is some kind of tool I can use to turn these more easily and from a distance. Thanks in advance...

Go to sears and get a wrench that has a decent fit, just about the same size as the height of the triangle, and use that.

Sometimes those shakers are linked together by gears and a single crank will move the group as one...
But a triangled hole shaker arm is what you need...
The stove part stores should have them...

Woodn'coal, have you been banished to cooking on the porch again, or is it just too hot in the kitchenWood'nCoal wrote:Yep, you need a shaker handle!!
Edit:Oops, hit the submit button too soon. Before you locate a proper handle, you can use a pair of channel locks or larger vice grips. Either of those tools will give you enough grip and torque to get the job done.

I wish I had another chimney so I could fire up that old stove and see what she can do! The spot in the kitchen where I was going to locate it and then build another chimney was a no-go. The only other possibility is a metal chimney through the porch roof, but I don't think that will happen either.
