Started last year with a head full of ideas. Always wanted a stove in the house. After finding this site last year and reading and learning a lot. I discovered COAL. . I planned for a long time. My wife kept saying what are you looking at as I stared at the wall downstairs. Now she knows. Have had her going since the 8th. Its snowing already. Perrrrrfect. Still experimenting with Nut & Pea sizes. Coal prices are higher than my nat. gas here, but still can't beat the comfort. Its worth it. I know I like pics, so If you're interested I've posted a few.

The floor is concrete. I removed the old carpet, painted with Shield Crete epoxy. Its the stuff with flecks. Kinda cool.I've been watching it, and it only gets warm. I may get something thin to lay under the stove and which extends out the front a little. Thinking just another piece of steel . I have some stainless I could use.

Yes I did do the chimney. And Thanks. Its a little different than normal. I wasn't real fond of a 2" clearance to the vinyl, and I didn't want to cut through the overhang. So I fabbed up a pedestal and some brackets that took me out past the overhang at the gutter line. I have over a hundred pics of everything, but can't seem to figure out how to make them small enough to attach more than this.
You don't have to make them smaller. Just upload them, and they will automatically be re-sized. I believe the max number of pics per post is five, so just enter them on multiple postsCHICKENBOY wrote: I have over a hundred pics of everything, but can't seem to figure out how to make them small enough to attach more than this.

Nice work! I'm sure it'll serve you well. The deer on the wall are already happy.
You stole my patented copper spacer idea. I've been doing that for years. Electric meters, Satellite dishes, anything that goes on the house get's copper spacers. Is that a coupling? I just hack pieces of pipe. Dang! If those are couplings, I guess you didn't steal my idea. Ya know...it's hard to think a new thought!

Freddy,
Yes they are couplers. Guess I'm too lazy to cut pipe. I've been using them on other things so the siding don't get squished (before I found this site, so I didn't steal your idea ). They fit perfect. I have 1/4" foam behind the siding which holds them in place very well while I line up the bolts or screws. That was just luck though.

Nice job on the install. I noticed several photos that included some type of beverage, I guess that glass is used to make sure the pedestal is level.

Nice job on the pedestal!
Did you have any issues with the inspectors approving the unconventional install?

Its SuperPro brand Chimney. I like the way it is completely sealed and how it goes together better than DuraVent.
