There was an article in the Annapolis paper the other day discussing a new venture trying to get permits to restart a deep mine in Western Maryland. Unfortunately, the paper went out in the recycle bin so I don't have more info. Pretty sure it said it was in Garret County and there was some concern that the mine is close to an area prized by fishermen. Anyways, anyone have any idea what kind of coal/quality was mined in Western Md?
