Map of the Anthracite Coal Fields in NEPA

I recently did a walk through of a house. Built in 1920 with a walk out basement, I was sure it was once set up for coal. It was and had a big ruble rock coal bin large enough to hold ~10 ton. In one of the closets I found a copy of the attached map. A lot of history in the this 1932 map.

Attached is a stitched together photo of the map. It's a ~2 mg file. If you download it and open it up, using the zoom option will get you into the detail the map holds. Each field is listed on the left side. A number in each column designates the mine/breaker/company/railroad which matches its location on the map. Interesting to see how much history that built this country has passed on in the 84 years since this map was made.

Nice link. Very useful to compare the change in numbers of coal facilities between in 1898 and 1932.
