The history of coal is quite a long one, you'll find links and information for history among other things here.

Hello,

I've been doing research into the brand names of anthracite coal and the related companies and railroads. I'm curious as to what brands your company would have distributed between the 1920s and 1950s. Being in the heart of anthracite country, I imagine there would be no shortage of brand names to choose from. Do you know what brands were carried, and how they were selected?

Thanks,
Mark

I have done some research on this at the Hazelton Library. There are 3 brands that I saw in old posters from the Depression. They are Potter Coal, Lackawanna Blue Flame Special and Moriah Clean Flame Coal. Hope this helps.
