Has anyone here heard of the Pilgrim Project? This project to synthesize petroleum from anthracite coal was started in 1979 by nthe government and co-funded by Sunoco. It was shelved in 1986 and has been moribund ever since. The report on the closure said it would not be competitive with middle east oil until the price went to 45.00 per barrel; then it was 17.00 per barrel. It should be competitive now as there is at least 40 billion tons of mineable anthracite in Pennsylvania now. Please contact me if nayone has any knowledge of this. I do work on Wall Street
