On Saturday morning it was a little chilly in my area and my boys still had their window AC units on max, I heard the pipes ticking and realized the heat was on in their rooms - holding the temperature at a steady 67 where it was set.

Guess it is time I shut the EFM down.

Maybe it is time to have the kids pay the utility bill.

We are getting geared up to take advantage of the heat. The headponds are full and yesterday the reserve capacity for New England was only 400 megawatts so the price is going up. It will be hotter today so we expect even higher prices and less reserve capacity.

Prices have been hoovering around $18 a megawatt for months so its good to see prices rise.

It's about damned time! MA is usually in a perpetual state of clouds, cold, and misery. Nice to walk out the door and feel warmth for a change! It's sticky out there right now. Triple-digit heat index, and it's only 1PM. Looks like a few cells springing up to the west right now. Going to be some violence with these temps! Hopefully it doesn't spool up another tornado ...

Wish I had got my bike ready. Perfect riding weather. When I leave work at midnight it'll still be in the 70's. Like a ride through Heaven! No time for that, though. Just woke up - got enough time to inhale breakfast and fly out the door.

The new mini-split is AMAZING. I can't believe my electric bill didn't go up, even after using it for heat for 2 straight nights. Thing is pretty efficient. Keeping this place almost 20° below ambient, which is unheard of. Usually the meter is spinning so fast you can't even see the lines! Pretty happy with it. Had to shut off that "I-See" sensor, though. Thing would never hit my set point, and the humidity was always high. Turned that off, and now she's finally working.

Even CANADA is nice right now!

My thermostats run through a toggle switch so I can leave them at setpoint but have them turned off. If it gets down in the 60's or lower through the night I open all the windows and put fans in, why would I want to heat the house in the morning only to run the AC in the afternoon?

I'd be happy with 50's at night and 70's during the day!

We had a couple of days over 90 so far this year.

I don't like the way the Agenda tries to spin this into man made climate change.

Funny thing is in many instances the records were set many years ago.

Every summer I expect several number of days around 15 or 20 above 90 sometimes it can even breach 100.

In Winter I expect several number of days around 15 or 20 to be sub zero.

I expect sun, clouds, rain, snow, thunder, wind, high wind. overcast.

I live in Connecticut. I expect Climate Change. In winter it is cold and Snows and in Summer it can be hot.

If there is a God I attribute Climate Change to God.

Yea we get all kinds of heat warnings and say how bad things have become and in the next sentence say we will probably break the high temp record set back in 1896.

And 100 degrees was really 100 degrees before everyone had A/C. My Dad was born in early 1936 when theres almost a month of record over 100 degree days here. He was raised under a tree that summer with people fanning him to keep him healthy during daylight hours. Many of those record temps still stand from that year here.

Im not a complete climate denyer. I think its probably getting warmer. The weather seems a lot crazier than when I was growing up. But I dont think its for all the reasons they claim. Its more about money.
