I'll have some of each! Nice weather here but dry as a bone. Send a little of your rain here but keep the wind. I mowed my pasture with my lawn mower this week that I disced in mid June and it wasnt even 6" tall.

I havent lit a fire here yet but its getting close. Electric heat so far. I picked up a pair of stove tee's this week so maybe I'll get those installed today and clean one of my pipes. Menards was cheapest by far for the tee pipes. Thats about all the excitement I want today, lol Have a good one!

Well, had a cup of coffee and its early in Sept on a saturday...

You can find me on such days at my town hall arguing over my car assessments which are always too high.

I won my several vehicle case lowering the assessments of the vehicle by over 3 thousand dollars total.

As usual. One lady there doing the same thing left her infant in the car, ran in to have her assessment appeal hearing, and won her case too but had to leave the infant in the car while doing so.

Welcome to Connecticut folks....where towns over assess cars for property tax collection.

Maine has a different way to empty your wallet. The 'Excise tax" ( a yearly fee) is based on the original sticker on the vehicle. It doesn't matter if you paid $24,000 for the new car, if the decal shows $38,000, that's what you get taxed on forever.

Maine and others have an ad valorum or excise tax. Based on some number or guide that the gov't picks and too bad if you car is worth thousands less in reality.

Any tax on property is theft. One should enjoy stuff he pays for without paying more later.

Fight the good fight !

Good afternoon! Long day, no hurricane. I spent a few hours prepping for the big blow.... ha! We've had an inch and a half of rain & the peak winds so far are 24 MPH. Whoop dee ding! I'm sure right along the coast it's a bit more exciting, but here... shoulda saved my effort.

Hope you all are doing well. Time to think cold weather. The tail of a hurricane changes the seasons 'most every year.

Hang tight.... forward we go!

If your car is 25 years old and a rust pile, what do they charge then? I dont have any of that stuff here. They find other ways to rob us.

A $35,000 brand new car is $840 the first year, then drops each year until year 6. Then it stays at $140 forever. So, it's final rusty junk year that $35,000 car will still be $140 plus $35 for the registration, $175 a year.

YEAR 1 .0240 mill rate

YEAR 2 .0175 mill rate

YEAR 3 .0135 mill rate

YEAR 4 .0100 mill rate

YEAR 5 .0065 mill rate

YEAR 6 .0040 mill rate
