Good morning guys. Take time and and think what this holiday weekend means. Ultimate sacrifice. Thanks for opening the door HB. Sausage patties and eggs are sizzling, coffee mighty tasty, come visit for a bit. Normal chores around here this weekend, garden all planted this week. Sure could use some rain. Stay safe gang!

Thank you all here that have served. I'll have a cup of that fancy coffee Bill makes. Off to mow and maybe cut some wood before it gets too warm this afternoon. Temperature swings are crazy around here.

Morning all. I think I smell deep fried bacon... Its probably the nicest weather for this holiday weekend I can remember. No real plans for the weekend except auto work and probably visit a cemetery on Monday. Have a good one everyone and remember what Monday is about!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend All!

And Thank You to all the Veterans out there!

Dry as a bone down here so I guess I'll be doing a lot of mowing. :no1: I'll need some coffee for that.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Lost a neighbor this week. He was a Navy vet. Little rough around the edges but he had heart of gold. Gonna miss him.
On we go.

During Korea guys got like $75 a month for pay.

I got $500/mo. But also got living expenses (lived off base) I forgot how much. No room at the base itself for housing at the time.

E1's now get about $2000/mo.

I only know of one of the people I served with who died while on duty. A scruffy and tough SGT who was in my unit...he was a blast..RIP

Have a good weekend everyone. I am roughing it out in the Adirondacks, cell service is sparse but I will see if this picture comes through.

Roughing it out = spotty cell phone service.

All gave some, some gave all.

R.I.P. to all our fearless warriors who made the ultimate sacrifice over the course of 2 centuries on our behalf.

This is hands down the BEST vid I have EVER seen regarding Memorial Day:

Someone stopped by on Sunday and put the flags out in the cemetery next to my house. I always walk through and take it all in, but I am one of very few.
