I should have probably also added getting a loan for one. I understand getting one if you can write a check for it and can afford it. But getting a loan for the full amount, that I dont get.

Yep, we'll see what happens when the next recession comes.

My next car will be electric. A golf cart in Florida. Really, I don't put enough miles on a car to warrant 50 Gs. I don't see how there will be a used market with batteries costing so much.

Soon in the news....

A golfer was seen arguing with an alligator over the need for pea coal when nut coal would work just as well and be more useful for colder temperatures. The golfer was promptly eaten by the alligator leaving this debate to be settled at another date.

We were at BJ warehouse the other day where gas is cheaper for members. There were a lot of cars pulling in. We had to wait for at least 2 cars ahead of us before we could get to the pump. The C300 takes about 13 gallons. So it only took a couple of minutes to pump the gas. How long is it going to take when everybody drives an EV to get back on the road? What will apartment dwellers do to charge their ride?

In 2010 I bought a 2010 Yukon with 8,000 miles on it. Cost me over 42k without tax.

Diesels are cheap now that the fuel is 20% more than gas instead of 10% less. The numbers dont work for diesels anymore. Huge price premium at purchase(Trucks) ,Big increase in the fuel cost, then take it in for service and get the final blow to the equation.
