Good Saturday Morning Coalers..!! Welcome To Our First March Coffee..!!
In like a lion, out like a lamb,or vice-a-versa,lately,that Spring Addage has been all messed up..!! Things have been akin to herding cats,or a herd of turtles..!! Over here in the N.E. Ohio,We're wrapping up yet another Gale with 2 inches of rain, now snow..!! Whoo-Whee..!!
Eh,none of that has anything to do with what FFred and his "Merry Band Of Galley Critters" have shaping up for All of You..!! Life's Good,so come on in..!! Kinda like Joe Dirt once said in a movie:"Life's A Garden,Dig It..!!"

Please pass the coffee. Fred, hurry up with those socks. I'm grabbing a pop tart and going to survey the storm results.

Bob,
While watching the weather the other night, I noticed there is a town in Ohio named Pee Pee. I thought Pennsylvania was the king of goofy names. I raise a glass to that one.
Keep up the good fight. Spring is on the way.

Well it looked like March was going to come in like a lamb with some light snow in the beginning of the week. Plants started popping up with warmer temps and then another small shot of colder snow yesterday. A hawk enjoyed a nice chilled supper. The Lion is here though this morning with blustery wind gusts in the 50's and a steady rate of 32mph. Mother Nature keeps flipping channels on the remote.

30's most of the coming week with some rain/snow, but hopefully the worst is over and I can get a nice April for a change. So many projects, so little time! But none today. The Iditarod dogsled race starts today and I always watch that online. Other than that I have no idea but I think I spy some bacon hiding over in the corner.... Have a good one!

It is cold and snowy morning in Lake Placid, but it is sure comfortable in the Herb Brooks Arena. The hallways are all heated with electric baseboard!

Ha! I thought my now deceased grandfather (100yrs old last month) was the only person to use the saying, “herd of turtles”. Thanks HB for giving me an excuse to think of him this early in the day. I’ll drink a cup of Joe to that. Thank you kindly!
After a day of flooding rains the sun is out this morning and it’s a balmy 47F OAT.
Plans for today…
- Going to put the 8th and final seasoning on the new 36” Blackstone Pro Series griddle we got for a song. That final seasoning will consist of burning some onions and tater skins with oil until they’re black, then toss them in the trash. From there it’ll be omelette’s loaded with the wood for brunch.
- Probably going to trim some limbs and trees too and then pick up some fallen limbs from the yard.
- Who knows after that. By then it’ll be time to fire up the new griddle again for supper.
Thanks for the coffee, HB!

Yikes!! Wouldn't want to be paying THAT electric bill! Must be 5-figures with today's pricing!!
Herding cats indeed, Bob! Much like our state gov't, MA's weather forecasting as of late has been all frigged up. Every place you get weather from had a different opinion as to WTF was going to happen today. We didn't get nearly as much as forecast, and, thankfully, the temps are higher than I expected. I'd better get out there and plow this s**t before it gets even heavier ...
3rd week of the new job in the bag. My pay was pleasantly more than expected, but I believe that's because of my decision to claim "1" instead of "0" on the W-4. I figure better to put that extra money in the 401(k) than give our corrupt gov't another interest-free loan that they'll probably just give to Ukraine anyway. Love the job, and the guys are great! This was a huge blessing. The commute sucks, but at least it's less than 2 hours of my day. The truck is getting HAMMERED, though, between the relentless road salt blasts and relentless beating from these roads. They're in the worst shape I have EVER seen! Your MA tax dollars at work!
The building I work in is super interesting! Sure beats wrenching on modern toilets. I can't even begin to explain how DONE I am with that phase of my life! Endless aggravation! There are so many old and modern, interesting systems in the building. I'll never learn everything here. Plenty of trades to pick up here as well. We'll see what the future brings. Place is built to last forever, along with some of the 70 year old equipment that still heats the place. Elevator motors are ORIGINAL to the building, as are the 3 MASSIVE Titusville steam boilers. They used to run on #6 bunker oil, then #4, and now natural gas. The guns on these things are HUUUGE!! There's also an old TV studio here! Used to be the home of Bozo the Clown (no, not our president, or MA governor ... but the REAL Bozo!). There's an old bowling alley, car wash, chapel, and a million other interesting things around here.
Then I leave work and come home to my parking spot full of the cat litter I just ordered!! Sign of the times - you'll see in the pics below what I came home to, thanks to UPS. Talk about, "Pride in your work"! This has, "I DON'T GIVE A F#*K" written all over it. Right in front of where I need to park, too! Ain't the 21st century grand? Watched the guy on camera just toss the things right out the back of the truck.
I leave you with some gorgeous sunrise pics. And, it's time to herd these little fellers.

I can see why you like that place Smitty with all that old equipment that can be worked on and history. And UPS, idiots. I had fedex leave a rather expensive package under my mailbox on the road once.... I mean I live on a little used gravel road but if i hadnt gotten an email that it was delivered it wouldnt have been there in the morning. jerks, most of them. Its all about getting done quick as they are on salary, many of them.
