If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
So during the day we might see an additional 2-7 inches of snow. Bring an extra flashlight. One is not good enough. Food is very important. Who could miss a meal?
Understand this is not some rural area where only 6 cars a month pass down a road.
If I were actually stranded in the snow, I would want some extra clothing especially layers and a top layer that is waterproof. A blanket would be nice. This is a time I wouldn't want to forget my cell phone. It might even be a good idea to let a loved one know that you are heading out and should be at your destination in less than an hour......Oh and there is 3 inches on the ground. Heaven forbid we get a total of 5-10.

Yesterday, Syracuse weather said 6-9 inches of wet snow for around here by noon today. Later in the day they upped that to 7-10 inches.

So far this morning, we have about 3 inches of fine powder and only lightly snowing. Warmer weather is just west of here and moving here today. No point in shoveling, it will melt all that.

If I had to suggest items to bring in your car during a local trip in snow, I would suggest sand, and a shovel, and a set of tire chains.

If I needed that I'd go with my 12 gauge and #4 buckshot. One trigger pull sends about the same number of projectiles downrange as an AR mag dump. My Mossberg holds the equivalent of five AR mags - plus, unlike an AR, it can be quickly reloaded in between shots. My old M-16 couldn't have kept up.

Im wondering how safe a $200 10mm would be? Take it to the range and let others shoot it first to find out

I'll take the Mossberg also. Moose to mice and everything in-between.
