All Dollar Generals are not the same. Where my place is in SC there is a Dollar General about a mile away. Great to have because town is 12 or 18 miles away depending on which one you want to go to. When I enter the store it is clean and people are well dressed, polite, helpful. The store is organized. Parking lot clean. Everything well stocked. Glad I am glad that store is there.

In Bristol CT. there is a Dollar General less than 2 miles away. Place is filthy. All or most workers speak Spanish. Price on shelf is not what rings up at register. Clutter in all the aisles. A real pit. Parking lot full of pot holes. Manager a fat, dirty looking, slob. It makes me cringe walking into the place.

Melissa talked to one of the gals at a Dollar General just last week. At that store they were only giving them part time hours, so they didn't have to pay them minimum wage. I wonder if that is company policy ? Might explain the worker shortage.

They never have more than 2 employees in the one by mem and only 1 until noon. I dont know how they keep the shelves stocked.

We had one…it got nasty inside…all because they were building a new Dollar General “Market” right next to the old one.

One check out line with a cashier and …4-5 self check outs…no cash…credit card only.

I won’t go back. It’s 3 miles away. I’ll drive 7 additional miles to a real grocery store where they’ll take my cash and also where if you decide you don’t want an item they simply deduct it from your items at check out, rather than having to call a manager to deduct an item. Crazy!!
