Political hiatus
Obviously the coffee house rules are not well defined and I think this forum is a worthwhile place.
I would have no clue if discussing an elderly retirement home for the drunks is political or if the discussion of CRT or Wokeness being taught in elementary or the responsibility of parents, is considered taboo or political.
Controversy seems to be whenever opinions differ. There can be controversy over whether a person that doesn't open their internal stove damper while tending their stove is taboo.
I always thought that adults could decide whether to engage, respond, or not.
With that said I wouldn't want the mayor's water to be too hot this morning and create an issue. Obviously there are people that like to discuss issues and there are those that think things are settled and not up for discussion.
I guess what would be nice to know is what is political or what non related coal topics should one approach delicately or avoid all together.
9/11, is that political? I don't know.
Maybe others can chime in on what they think.
At this point I would welcome your opinion. I will refrain from comment for awhile.

I find most of your posts to be posting of news...If people think that's "political" , so what. Everything is political.
Its news. A discussion of the news is not an issue.
Old news, new news, whatever.
Your thread titles are good enough to know what the subject matter is for the thread.
I don't comment on threads that I think are off-topic or not of interest to me...people all free to do that.
I have not seen a thread saying "Support this on-line petition" .... not in recent memory anyways.
Post it in humor and make fun of a vid then...lol

The cost of heating oil, gasoline, diesel, coal political? What about pharmaceuticals?
Here is the thought just popped in my mind. The more government does for people from cradle to grave caring, the more it makes everything in our life political.
The cost of our essentials and inflation political?
Almost everything is political.
Trying to decipher what is political is political.
Raising chickens or rabbits is political.
Public school is political.

Hiatus OVER
noun
a pause or gap in a sequence, series, or process.
The specifics of the Hiatus are as easily defined as the rules of the Coffee house.
I took a pause or gap in the sequence for awhile.
Anybody watching the Twitter people in front of Congress? There is plenty of great material there I have refrained from posting.

I dare someone to ask to have this discussion divided up between hiatus and masturbation
Or do they go together, like, a person has more free time from the one to do the other

How does one make the distinction between politics and news?
Is the FBI colluding with Twitter news or politics?
Is the USA blowing up Nord stream news or politics?
Is what Russia would consider provocation and possibly the reason for WWIII news or politics?

Seems that if you post reports of the news, it's just news. When people debate or argue over that same news it becomes politics.
