Good Frozen Morning,Gang! It's Cold!! More To Follow!
Phew! I'm back. Had to address an issue on da' stove! Come On In,The Coffee's Fine!! We're pretty warm at 7* compared to alot of You "Polish Vortex Sufferers" that have been below zero for quite some time! Get Yourselves inside as We're featuring "Build Your Own Waffles" today! I do believe there's a reason why February is the shortest month of da' year!
Tuck It In And Take Care,Gang!!

You ain't kiddin' Bob! Friggin FREEZIN' out there! Windows are iced, and even with nearly 1,200 pounds of hot, thick metal from 1951 sitting in the basement uninsulated, I can see my breath down there!

Supposed to be 44° tomorrow, lol! Gotta love New England!

Cats usually love sitting on the porch. They said, FRIGG THIS, this AM the second I opened the door. There was some paw shaking, squinting, and the both did an immediate about-face! I can't say I blame 'em. Shop's closed today!

Another 7° here Bob in Central PA. Past week was up and down for temps with snow showers every day. Yesterday was a bit breezy with 30 knots but the December dip was worse here. It's winter somewhat for a few days. I do like seeing the blue/red ice in the clouds in the morning. Birds are saying spring is around the corner.

Nice pic of the bird. It's a nice shot. -13* this morning. Oh boy, I've got to get to the barn and get the critters fed. Then I'm sitting tight til it warms up this afternoon.

Morning all!

Not much go'in on down here today. 8 degrees this morning, going to be close to 50 tomorrow. :o
I fired up the 'Ol Harman yesterday to give it some exercise. Put some charcoal and some Bit coal in it and it fired right up. A nice 72 degrees in here now.

Smitty, it's hard to believe that with the huge, 180 degree EFM in your basement you can see your breath! :o

Have a good weekend everyone!
-Don

2 miles from my house it shows -31F. I think the heat leaking out of my house threw off the first reading.

Good morning guys. Thanks for the open HB. Balmy 3 above here in SW PA this morning. At least we are finished with that miserable never ending month of January. Ground hog said 6 more weeks of winter, sure looks like a genius today. No much going on here except for work and cabin fever. Stay warm and think spring!

Next camping trip is in two weeks but so far nothing planned for March, ok back to work for me so have a great weekend friends 🍻

My cold day was all of last week. Its up to 8 above already and looking good for a couple weeks now. I burned coal this week while it was cold but today I'll let it burn out and go back to wood.

I need to break into my barn somehow today. Snowed shut right now, rock hard ice/snow. Sliding door so no way will it open. Hopefully I can get in without crawling thru a window. Its finally warm enough to do something outside.

Cold weather is always nice for pictures so I took a few yesterday at sunrise. Pass the waffles and dont forget to put a pound of bacon on top...

The wind has died down, it’s a bluebird day. We have as many as 7, I don’t know where they are staying. They come around 9:30 am. Like the mealyworms.

Used to have a ton of them around here. They'd nest in a box I nailed outside my porch. I watched 3 generations form one summer. Then one day the male was on the wire squawking in distress - momma never came home, eggs were never laid. They haven't been back since. My dad lives in the suburbs, and they hung around all winter long last year chowing on meal worms.

Warminmn, that's an EPIC sunrise you caught there!! There was a sunset here just like that, but my camera just couldn't capture it the way my eye saw it. Looked exactly like your pic!

Went outside for a bit to look the yard over. I was walking on the frozen river out back! Moving water froze solid overnight!! Impressive.

This place is one GIGANTIC air leak. It's a wonder it was in the mid 60's! That's the warmest this house has ever been, and this is the coldest ambient and wind chills I've ever seen in 20 years of owning this house. :o
