Wifey has not shook the stove all season. Decided she would do it today.

One grate is stuck. She says..look one half of stove is broke, its not red like other side.

I'll get the stove burning hot to get that side's grate loose again. Its jammed right now.

Lucky its not in the negatives in temp outside.

Time to get a new one

And the grate was able to be shaken, its free now. 2 1/2 hrs ... just opened up the stove.

Top of stove at 350F ... med. high but not super-hot.

Lucky the coal burns bottom to up, eh ?

Glad you freed it up! That SUCKS when that happens!

The last season I ran my Mark III, I had an entire season of coal with friggin ROCKS in it! Every singled damned night, the grates would jam open, and I'd have to clean out and relight the fire! Always at midnight when, at the time, I was drunk, tired, and PISSED! Got a stoker boiler after that. I had had enough!
