What kind of trouble. My checking had several fraudulent charges a few months ago.

Years ago I got a check from a person that banked with bank of America. There was one a mile or so away and it was a nice day so I took my dog for a walk and set out to cash it. My dog was a big Doberman. When I arrived at the bank I figured I would just go to the drive up window so I got behind a car and kept advancing until it was my turn. When I approached the window the teller told me that she cannot service me because the widow is for people in vehicles only. Something to do with Patriot act I think. She kept saying I had to go indoors. I kept saying but I have my dog. So eventually I walked away from the window and walked into the front door and lobby of the bank with my dog. "Sir you cannot be in here with that dog. You must leave immediately." I said, "I waited 15 minutes outside and the lady at the window told me I had to go inside. I walked a mile here and only want to cash a check." Manager came over and said give me the check, go outside, I will bring you the money.

I had an account with them some time ago. Mortgage.

The sent me a foreclosure notice.

What did I do to earn that ?

I switched from sending in a check to auto-withdraw. But the bank did not auto-withdraw and forgot to process the change.

They apologized. The I invested $$ in the market and paid off the loan within 4 years of taking out the mortgage.

Have not dealt with them since.

We had a mortgage and credit card with them for years, no issues that I remember. The last few years they have done some things that seem politically motivated and I am glad we are no longer their customer.

We now do 100% of our banking through a local credit union. They consistently have better rates than the big guys, and their customer service is superior.
