What is this stupid trend. Heck in the 60's and 70's nobody would think of paying premium prices for torn jeans. Who would want to wear a pair of jeans torn in the knees? That was when it was time for a new pair of jean pants and a new pair of cut off jean shorts. What about paint stains? I have some greasy, paint laden, torn jeans for sale they should be worth a fortune.

I think you're about 15 years too late to complain about it.

No ripped jeans when I was growing up in the 50's and 60's. That could be taken as a sign that you didn't have a parent that cared enough about you to patch your clothes.

Every kid had patches sewn on his play jeans,.... and cuffs rolled up so there was extra length for growth. Brought home more dirt in those cuffs than on my shoes. :D

My Mom didn't like to sew. When they came out with iron-on denim patches she thought that was the greatest.

Longer than that…and I went to school in corn country…where we we’re usually late on fads.
That fad started when I was still in school in the late 80’s, right after parachute pants went out. The OP’s real late for complaining. I agree with the OP though 100%.

Those were the good old days, Paul. I was born too late…even a hundred years before that too late.

Paying $300 for garbage jeans is tight.

I just think it is pitiful these people that don't know a thing about work wear brand new jeans that are all ripped and pay extra for them. I can only imagine my mother or grandfather's opinion of brand new jeans that cost more that are ripped all over.

I am waiting for rusty junk cars and sour milk to become a new fad.

Rusty junk cars are already a fad too. Patina cars. They try to find unrestored old cars, fix the mechanical part and drive them. personally I like them, not all do.

I don't think rusty junk cars are a fad. Classic well running road worthy cars that have patina are admired.
I guess a better question would be, do you think new cars with rust assembled with worn out parts and bald tires would be a popular?

Used to buy stiff as cardboard Levi jeans as a kid. Wear them until the knees got holes. They then became that summer's cut offs.
