The odds are extremely low. Like one in three hundred million.

I enjoy awaiting these old ladies who buy lotta tickets at a convenience store or gas station.

"I'll take a pick 5"

"Then a pick 10"

JUST BURN YOUR MONEY LADY AND QUIT WASTING MY TIME (what I say in my mind)

Theres odds and theres chance. Odds mean 1 out of however many "will" win. Chance means 1 out of however many "might" win and no guarantee anyone will.

Take a box of pull tabs and there are 1000 tabs with 10 winners. We know 10 people will win. But in a lottery the box of tabs is bottomless. Thats why we have long spells with no winners. Its just a chance.

I read that the odds are the same as flipping a coin and getting heads 28 times in a row.

You can’t win if you don’t play. I always buy one ticket every now and then. My uncle played the same number on the little lotto all his life. He hit it a few years ago.

I look at it like a guilty pleasure. Do I need that extra bottle of coke or pickup a chance winning the lottery. That lottery ticket does prove to be a way healthier choice hahaha

I only play the Pa. Cash 5 game now and then. It's hitting 5 out 46 numbers with tiny amount for less numbers. 2 numbers pay $1. Top money ranges from $150k on a reset to about $600k. In the last 20 years the most I won was $18 on a 4 out of 5. Also tall odds, but there is some chance of winning.

I once worked in a cubicle jungle for about 5 years. We had a large office lottery pool playing a number of games twice a week. Maybe several hundred chances of winning a week. In those 5 years, the most we ever won was $50, once. In a couple of other buildings, two different pools hit very big. One of them was something like $60 million split 13 ways. A lot could go wrong with a dishonest pool keeper I suppose. I don't know how they could hide for the 5 or 6 weeks it takes to get the money in person. Or later. Possession is 10 points out of 10 of the law with lottery tickets.
