Mornin'
After a hearty feast at Thanksgiving, a light breakfast sounds good to me......coffee please.....and maybe a slice of pie, thank you, HB!!!!!!!! With the warm temps coming back this week, I'm burning wood again.....stretching the black rocks 'til it gets colder. Enjoy the remainder of the holiday week-end, guys/gals......stay warm and healthy.
Cheers

It's coffee and turkey leftovers down here this morning. I think today is the day I start working on the Axeman to get it ready to fire up next month. The Van Wert is carrying the minor heating and DHW duties for now.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Good morning fellow rock burners! Thanksgiving was a good one. Around the table a little family, a couple of friends & an almost complete stranger. It all worked well. Good thanks for the delicious food, good talk, and a 30 year old story about dynamiting gone wrong. Can't get better than that! Now... leftovers. Nothing better for breakfast than chocolate cream pie!

Pie for breakfast, you lucky, lucky man. We are doing our second Thanksgiving today with a different portion of the family. I'm not allowed pie until after today's dinner.Freddy wrote: ↑Sat. HB--we're goin with a Blue Spruce this year. A buddy of mine has a tree farm-- (pick your own & cut it down--just hand saws no chainsaws---25-30 yrs back (we're on the Bd. of directors for volunteer ambulance) anyway--he locked me in at $20.00 for a tree of my choice for ever----seen him today & he told me if he had of thought I was gonna live so long--he never woulda never said it!!! I don't believe the price of trees-- Same back at ya D, across the BIG pond. Busy, busy day today--it was beautiful outside--hit around 50 for a high--lookin at upper 20's tonight. hopin everybody had a outstanding T-day. Freddy, the old lady's oldest son whipped up a chocolate/banana cream pie graham cracker ( damn--forget what the crust is called) The mind is a terrible thing to misplace-- Anywho--I was kinda skeptical---BUT--it was delicious!!!

WOah! Just a bit late over here. Too much junk being manufactured today - I can't get a break!
Nice, Fred - you sure scored on the tree!! My brother said he paid $75 for his. Not super huge, either!!
The EFM is cranking away still, damned-near hands-off! I throw 10 bags in the barrel a week so far - that's certainly going to increase when we get some below-zero mornings here. I've been taking the ashes out every other day, only because my ashpan is friggin HUUUUGE! If it gets just a 1/4 full, I'm winded before I even make it outside! Getting winded with asthma and having my face in the ash pan as I shake up a fine dust cloud don't work too well for me, lol. Been playing DPW with the ash, since the state hasn't paved our road in almost 7 decades. I hear it's because we're of the "wrong" political party. Go figure.
Neighbor got a MAAAAASIVE buck out behind our houses!! Biggest buck I've EVER seen in my life! I know NY gets these daily, lol, but here in MA, they usually get shot long before they reach this stage! THis was a NINE pointer!! WHAT A RACK!! Never saw or touched one so friggin big before!
Some pics from the week! Enjoy!

Get yourself a second ash tub, that way you can swap them and let the full one cool before you take it out. My dad just had me get him 3 more, that way he can make it through the week and my brother can haul out the ashes on the weekend.SMITTY wrote: ↑Tue. Nov. 29, 2022 7:55 pm
