In connection with the increase in gas prices to 3,500 euros per thousand cubic meters, I am forced to increase the forecast price to 5,000 euros by the end of 2022," Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
All predictable as they picked a fight with Russia. This will break Germany and probably most of Europe id winter is bad.

With a 9000 euro bill and they still add VAT there is no willingness to help.

Yep. Cost equivalent...
Here now in the states gas is $1.80/therm or $18/1000cuft...
Cost equivalent coal is $410/ton...
That is why Europe thinks coal is cheap to them at $450ish a ton...
Because Nat Gas is now at $85/1000cuft in Europe...
Current cost equivalent coal is $1925/ton in Europe...
Welcome to the world market...

I do not think the EU leaders have thought this though. Many real problems for energy intensive industries like steel mills etc. It will take years to fix this if the war carries on. Of course, I selfishly wonder about NEPA supplies
