Hey guys
Been busy so haven’t been around too much. But I’ll have time to catch up on the latest.
You see silly me decided to fall off a ladder yesterday. Broke my foot pretty bad.
In the X-ray you can see a thing above my heal. That was part of my heal that my tendon ripped off when I hit the ground.
Going in for surgery Friday and then six weeks for recovery. Could have been worse, this was from a six foot fall landing on grass.
It really woke me up, right before this I was up 12 feet over my asphalt driveway. Alone and no phone in my pocket and no one to see it happen.
I’m getting older and learning I break easer these days.
Stay safe and don’t do stupid stuff when alone.

You'll be lucky to be done in six weeks. Hope there was not much damage to the Achilles tendon.
That made me chuckle..waytomany?s wrote: ↑Mon. Aug. 22, 2022 9:16 pmSooo, what you're saying is I can act normal as long as someone is around?

Totally understand what you’re going through. I did the same thing over a month ago and luckily didn’t break anything. Supposedly didn’t tear anything either but pain twisting heal in certain directions is telling me otherwise.
Six weeks you’ll be back on your feet after surgery, but for it to feel mostly heeled up will be more likely 1 to 1 1/2 years and it still may bother just a tad even after that length of time.
Could have been worse for you I suppose. Friend of mine got his hand caught in an industrial sized drain snake and it ripped his thumb off at the first knuckle and when it ripped it off it took the tendon with it all the way up his forearm connected at the elbow and took a chunk of the elbow with it. OUCH!!!
Good luck with that foot. Mine is slowly getting better but I still think a tendon ripped and I can’t seem to talk them into an MRI.

Sorry to hear and glad it's not worse !
Been there, tangled up in a race with the ladder to the ground,.... from the second floor of my barn onto concrete. The broken pelvis healed but it was a long 6 months of crutches and canes.
Gravity always seems to win any stupidity contests.
Good luck with the surgery.

Why the delay? Swelling ?
Just three day wait, soonest I could get it done .Today was looking promising but it didn’t work out.
I have a good surgeon who already fixed this foot once before, that was the big tow joint, plus a bone spur.
So this will be the third scar he leaves me. Lol
