Before I get started with this story I'd like to file a disclaimer. My intention is not to poke fun or humiliate. You guys are all full well aware that I'm guilty of my own redneck hillbilly engineering cobbles..
This is something I found while out touring in the bread truck. It's located on a state route between a couple small towns in rural western NY.
In my best guess, it appears that this guy set a wood stove outside on the ground and built a cinder block doghouse around it. Since this was a "drive by shooting" of pictures you can't see it, but there is what appears to be a cold air return and warm air supply plumbed to the camper. I would enjoy stopping to inquire but felt it might not be in the best interest of my own personal safety.
Although it's probably very inefficient, I bet it easily cooks him out. It keeps the mess outside and would save a lot of space as opposed to putting the wood stove IN the camper. The only bummer would be suiting up every few hours to go outside and stoke it.

It wouldnt surprise me if its loaded from inside somehow??? and just built next to the camper to save space and to save the heat. The addition across from the stove could hold wood. They are just set up for cheap living, thats all. There used to be all sorts of odd setups here and in northern MN before all the zoning and septic laws forced them out to save them from themselves as the saying goes.

As someone who was raised by parents who struggled though the great depression, I've learned that, often, the best creativity comes about when there are the least resources.

I agree, very unique
Possible, there could be a shelf in there for baking.
The cinder block doghouse is a few feet away from the camper. I circled what looks like the warm air supply leading to the camper. Under the blue X you can see the corner of the dog house that's facing the camper.
