J, been down that road. Sadness and at the same time relief that the suffering is over. To this day I have the same sentiments you expressed today. Carry on and do as they would have done.

Sorry for your loss J.

It warmed up to +11 today. Its been colder for a spell now and going backwards again. Quite windy, snow swirling but still not a lot of snow here. Thats fine with me. I'll probably just watch a movie or two today, maybe a little football but not a lot. I hate the Packers too much to enjoy watching them play  But maybe if they are losing I'll watch some of it. I smell bacon....

Tended the Chubby last night around 930 before I went to bed. It went out sometime early this morning before I got up at 6am. Brrrr! Oil is set to kick on at 60degrees. Chubby is pushing it heating our 1700sqft. Im asking allot of it. Sometimes it gets loaded with ash and klinkers no matter how thoroughly I shake her down. Can't wait to get the Keystoker set up for next season. Headed to work for a few hours. The back home to chicken soup made with our Roosters that liked to crow at 4am. 😂 Stay Warm!

My son has Covid. The gentleman with the boiler is immune compromised and it's a big concern for him. We put it off a week or so. I'm gonna go out in advance and take the hopper, stoker, and jacket off to make things less complicated. Friend of mine has a trailer and a 10,000lb winch. Trailer should be allot easier to load on and off. I also have metal ramps that should fit on the three shallow steps into the basement. Should go smoothly enough. Fingers crossed.

-3 here last nite, I also cranked up the feed rate adjustment on my Keystoker90. The adjustment made a big difference. I have the Coal-trol settings throttled down a tad from factory defaults. I don't like to run her too hard. I could make more adjustments but am happy with the way it handle last nites temps. FR running at 99 with a little over 2 inches of ash on grate. The thermometers are reading inside temps of the pipes they are mounted on.

Good deal. How warm do you keep the shop?
I keep the shop between 58 and 62 degrees.
Moms rooms are at 72 and the kitchen and dining room and my room set at 70.
