Mornin'
Coffee time at Freddy's. I'm not a chef, but the coffee is hot. We had a nice week of Spring weather in the Northeast. Yesterday, not so great, but, we'll get there. Have a great week-end, everyone. Stay healthy.
Cheers

Uh,Yo-Ho,Gang! Spanx-A-Lot For Da' Coffee,Big D!! Nice to be able to look back at the last 4 weeks and realize all that's been taken care of! Seeing alot of Supply Chain Shortages and Price Increases in various areas. Sound thinking(Me?) Says defer all that you can until things straighten out! Conversely, the "Get It Done Wildman" in me says price hikes, unadulterated rape and other Tawdry Market Behaviours are going to be the "New Norm"! Do Your Homework,Make Da' Call,Remember That Cheap Kills,And So Does Spendin' Money Like A Drunk Sailor!! Good Luck,My Fellow Wise Coal Curmudgeons! As Always,Take Care,Gang!!

Good morning. Last week the EFM just run on the timer while we enjoyed some 70 degree days, but then it switched to 35 degrees and rain - so we are back to a few heat calls once in a while. I can do like Freddy and switch to a heat pump, but then the basement becomes cold & damp - I think I will run the boiler until the apple trees blossom.

Morning all!

Unfortunately, Spring, sprung early this week. Now it is officially mowing season and I am no where near ready. My old JD F915 needs a bunch of work before I can mow and this weekend is all about working on the car.

My grass will be pretty high by the time I can get it mowed!

Stay Happy Healthy and Safe everyone!
-Don

Thanx D--been soggy & damp/cold the last few days. Pasture/barn all ready for Belgium horses coming next week. Just need to pick up some shavings. They're both just a yr. old--came from Ohio--pix to follow at some point. :) Had snow flurries yesterday, lilacs & flowerin pear trees are budded out. Gardens tilled & fertilized--won't plant till Memorial Day other then potatoes, beets, etc. Got all 3 of the old Wheel Horses up & runnin--gotta love that MMO I put in em Fall time. Always start right up--seems scary I know!! LOL Gotta put charger on old Ford 8N & get her out of the barn. Amish neighbor filled coal buckets this AM--who the hell knows where this weather is headed--BUT, far from lettin the HITZER die. Oh well, enjoy people. Picked up 2 ton of bagged BLASCHAK nut yesterday so got a jump on next season. Went through the traditional 3 ton this year.

Ran out of fuel oil so back on coal, if everything comes in threes I got one more coming. My son got a new zero turn so I got his “ old “ one hundred bucks and it will be like new !!! Have a great weekend all .

I'll nuke some left over coffee. I don't know much about horses but those are fine looking, Fred. Good of you to show them around. Just another, where do I start day, here. Did some food shopping and just shaking my head about the weekly price jumps. Actually, more like nothing is ever on sale anymore.

Did some cataract surgery about 12 days ago. Only about 17 days left of 4x a day eye drops. I did the other eye several years ago. Than all the bull getting some new specs. I should hopefully get my second Covid shot next week at a sketchy supermarket pharmacy.

I left my stove burn out a couple of weeks ago. Out of coal except for an emergency drum and also due to the surgery. Went through 3.79 tons of very mixed bag Blaschak since about Oct. 20th. The boiler is sucking down $2.30 a gal. juice on these 30 something nights. Some friends in western upstate NY sent some pics of about 4 or 5 inches of new snow. I guess that those in northern NE had far more. Have a fine Sunday, folks!

Surprisingly NO C----even their blazes are almost identical--both will be a year in Aug. I'll work with them as though they will be a matched team. They're still gettin comfortable with their new setting--where they were they had 14 competitors--sooooo, they're just startin to realize they got their own stalls, feed bins & a slew of outlandish pasture. The 100 lb. Redbone pup has been out playin/runnin with them & I'm thinkin they're all pretty happy!! :)

Nice looking horses Fred! Glad your getting around some again.

Things are starting to get green here. I just got done putting chemicals (Criterion 75wsp) around my oaks as i noticed oak borer last fall. Hope that stops them. I have 2 ash I'll try to save with it too but thats enough for one day. Ive got 4 pails of coal left then thats it. Over 6 months on less than 3 ton this year. It averages to a little more than 30 pounds a day, the least I ever used. It was a warm winter though, except one 2 week cold spell.

Good evening gang, everyone seems to be doing well except for Benny but at least he can flush! Horses look great Fred! It was my weekend to empty trash and clean up any messes at our twp park then helped a buddy do some drainage work at his house. Cooler weather here frost this morning hopefully it will slow the grass back down. Plan on doing mowing tomorrow after work other than that not much to report on. Have a great week fellows!
