Just bought some "Texas Jeans" as they were only ones I could find reasonably priced made in the USA. Bought two pair and I'll buy more if I like them. Both the denim and jeans are made here....

I am fully committed to buying American made products. I spend hours researching things to find the point of origin. However, jeans are tough as the few American manufacturers are expensive, to say the least.
When I decide to buy, I'll go to Hartford Denim Company.

I can buy 2 pairs of RUSTLER for those prices & find they wear as good as Levi's or Wranglers. I was hard core Levi for many, many yrs--BUT, when it got to being able to feed the horses for a week for the same pricing--Richard S. wrote: ↑Wed. Here's another source. Heck, maybe some of us have people we know making them?

My bank account must look like Freds. Lately though Ive been splurging and using up some of my accumulated Cabelas bucks on Carharts, otherwise I usually get Dickies. I like carpenter jeans so they do cost a few more dollars than the cheapies. Nice to see a couple that are reasonable and still made here though. Prison pants, who'd have thought? I didnt see any cheap ones on the Hartford site.

The Schmidt pants at Tractor Supply seem a lot more durable than the Carhartts to me.

Where are the Rustler jeans made? I think Richard was looking for the cheapest ones made in USA. You might have the winner depending what the tag says.freetown fred wrote: ↑Wed. My guess is they are made in Mexico.

Made by WRANGLER right here in the good old USA I believe. Wrangler just wanted to make something affordable to the workin grunt.

Dickies and Carharts are imported, the only thing made by Carhart in the US I'm aware of is the tan duck coats and the fireman gear. At least that was the case a few years ago when I last checked. Basically any clothing that is recognizable name is going to be imported.

These apparently have even the cotton sourced from the US. I know the ones I posted above have the denim made here but I don't know about the cotton. Presumably they do becsue of the Made in the USA label.
Whenever you are looking for something made in the USA you specifically want to look for the label "Made in the USA". The reason for that is because it's the one term that is regulated by the FTC, the product can only contain negligible content from foreign sources. "USA Made", "Hand Crafted in the USA", etc. are not Made in the USA products. Any product that can use that label is going to put it front and center.

I don't mind paying extra for a product made here but those are way overpriced.EarthWindandFire wrote: ↑Wed. Mar. 31, 2021 12:14 pmWhen I decide to buy, I'll go to Hartford Denim Company.

I peeked at my Carharts and the pair I have on is made in Nicaragua, so Im supporting those workers so they dont come here
Like I said, Im just using up some of my Cabelas bucks I had saved up and they are out of almost anything my size, like Cabelas always is. Carharts and Wrangler Riggs were about all they have for me, and the overpriced 5.1.1.? I'll give the texas jeans a try in the future.

I said--"made by wrangler" Rustlers go for around 15.00 a pr. --" made in Mexico with USA fabric--guess we got unions to thank for that. Something Trump was trying to straighten out--I'm sure Biden will follow through.
