Mornin'
Ah-good coffee "T", thank you. First 30 days of Winter gone.....fairly mild and very little snow. 'Montreal Express' this week-end with low-low wind chills, and we have a cold week in front of us. Winter is here!!! Stay happy, healthy, and warm.
Cheers

Thank for the waiting coffee & good grub. It's been a while since I've had peach preserves. Good stuff!

Well, folks.... for the first time in 12 years, I.... along with my auto-feed girly boiler....am OUT of the one match club! I am so embarrassed. And now the rest of the story which might sound like an excuse, but it's only the reason. Fact one: My Axeman boiler is out in the garage. I can't see or hear it from inside the house. I empty ashes every couple of days, so it goes quite a while without human intervention. Fact two: A few times a day I play Frisbee with the Duke dog. It's a floppy home made fabric disc that he'll chase down the hall and return 100 times in a row if my arm doesn't get tired. It flies off the walls, the ceiling, and sometimes goes into the bathroom, or bedrooms. If the cellar door was open it would go down there too.... but he'd probably break a leg. Well.... Thursday morning the house was chilly, but that was good because we planned to be working in the kitchen all day & didn't want to sweat. So.... it was into the evening before we realized the heat was not working. Yup.... the boiler was dead..... it was down to 110 degrees, and not a hint of comeback after trying. So... after a brief search for cause,a second match was struck. Dag nab it! I tried to blame Debbie, but no, she hadn't dusted the walls ( That's another story)... it was my fault..... No, no, it was Dukes fault. ;) In the house, high on the wall next to the cellar door is the emergency switch for the boiler. It seems the Frisbee hit the dang switch and turned it off!! Yup, blame the dog. Now, each time we are done with Frisbee, I take a visual of the switch. Sheesh!

Hope you all stay healthy & forward we go!

Montreal Express indeed! We are supposed to have wind chills of -25 tomorrow morning. I better put a frisbee guard on the boiler switch.

Been a kinda productive this morning so far, Paid bills, put my laptop back together ( the track pad was acting up and I think the battery is starting to swell so I added some shims under it to see if its the battery or pad itself) and installed a new battery in my work JBL charge3 speaker (won't hold a charge after 4 years), now I need to fill the indoor coal bin after I finish up here.
Ok friends take care, stay safe ,and hold on I have a feeling that 2021 is going to be a wild ride!!

:o

I might have to bump up the boiler temperature. I have been running it at 160 but doubt that will do the job with subzero temps and strong wind. We will see.

Freddy, you might get extended play on the hockey field. I understand a polar vortex split and may be on its way for an extended stay late Jan/Feb - burr!

Comments above from 1/9/2021 coffee: So finally the cold slap in the face is here! Play on Freddy!

I left mine at the same (155/165) and it did fine. At -8 outside, some of my zones run almost continuously....which is super comfortable.
