Gooood morning~! Ahhhh, another beautiful day. Come in, enjoy a good cup of Jo & spend a moment. Bagel based breakfast sandwiches are coming off the griddle. These bad boys will get a garden planted or an engine changed out. Hope you like 'em!
I made a 4' by 8' sign for the camp association..... 80 three inch by 19 inch individual alphabetical signs with last name & address. Two stainless steel screws hold each sign. 5 vertical rows of 16 signs with a few blanks that I put center top. I got it done last Wednesday. That night I woke up at 2AM... "Kramer"!!! I had forgotten one name.... my new next door neighbor. Gad zooks! I got up at 5AM, made the Kramer sign & went to the garage to insert it. I was dreading how many I would have to move to keep it alphabetical. ONE! I moved "Kuhn" to an empty center spot & inserted Kramer in it's spot. Luck scores the same as skill I tell ya! LOL
Looking to spend more time at camp this summer. If I miss a coffee or two, no worries!
Stay safe, stay busy & forward we go.

Going to mow here once the heavy dew goes away. Garden looking good so far. Warm nights and rain has been spot on. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Great coffee, Freddy, thank you. The flowers are in bloom.... the bees are working....the grass is growing..... yup, it's mowing time about every 10 days.
I cleaned out the Yukon yesterday.(wood ashes and stove pipe) Next week I'll get to the Herald and the Chubby.
Stay healthy, and enjoy the nice weather.
Cheers

Mowing here today also. Yesterday looked great to mow, the breeze had the grass nice and dry and just as I was going to go at it I saw the sky to the southwest and heard the distant rumble of thunder Better luck today.
In other news I got the bicycles out a few weeks ago and have been taking a ride every evening I am home slowly increasing distance as I get my legs and ass conditioned. Riding skinny bike saddles does require ass conditioning. I find riding very enjoyable traveling the back roads past the Amish farms and through small wood lots it is just what the doctor ordered for these strange times.
Freetown, have you ever seen a Wheel Horse you haven't bought?

Good morning. No breakfast sandwich for me - I already had a pan of bacon going, and by the looks of it, that will be all I need. This is the bacon from the pig we bought from the local meat shop. I think it is the best bacon I have ever had.
Lawn mower news - I had my first breakdown with my 2011 John Deere zero turn. Started it last weekend and it had a dead cylinder. I verified that it had fuel and compression, so that left the ignition. $65 for a new coil and about 2 hours worth of wrenching, and it is running great again.
Weather update - after a few weeks with zero rain and lots of pollen, we got a few showers yesterday afternoon and overnight. I don't think it was very much, but at least it is keeping the dust down. The apple blossoms came and went this past week, but the lilocks are in full bloom and giving the bees something else to work on.

Morning all,
Thanks for the coffee Freddy! Maybe one of those breakfast sandwiches will motivate me to get out and mow some grass!
The 1959 Axeman has been running with no problems this week. The new chimney cap and the fact that we are running 100% Rice coal has fixed our outfire problems. We are in full blown A/C season down here. Mid 80's and oppressive tropical humidity, Yuk.
Stay healthy and safe everyone!

Who can resist this sandwich? Ham, cheese, fried egg on an Everything bagel. Yum!
Time to clean out the Axeman 130 & put a light bulb in it.

Well we survived one hell of a rain storm yesterday just North of Columbus, they said we got 4” of rain in just 3 hrs and i do believe it. We had major flooding here at the campground we at but not real bad in the woods where our sites are at.
Other then that we are just enjoying a beautiful day!! Nothing bad to report and everything is working just fine
Take care folks and have a great weekend!!

It took until mid-afternoon yesterday for the grass to dry. I spent half the day on the back 40. This is a small field in the woods behind the house that I usually keep mowed with the rest of the lawn but I got behind the eight ball this year. There were fallen trees I started cutting up in early spring and then got side tracked and now the grass has yet to be mowed and there are branches laying in the high grass. I got them cleaned up yesterday as best as I could but I’m sure there are some smaller less than inch diameter twigs hiding out so I’ll be doing this last with the Woods finish mower and then I can do a blade swap afterwards. I wouldn’t want to dull the blades before doing the front field.
Tell yourself whatever gets you through the day Fred. I tell people with cats that two is the maximum allowed as house cats once you get three you are on your way to becoming crazy cat lady. With Wheel Horses I’ll spot you three; the good one, the beater, and the spare for when one of those is broke down. When you get your fourth you are on your merry way to becoming a collector, i.e. hoarder.
Keepaeyeonit; that’s a lot of water, I’m glad you kept it in Ohio.
Speaking of the front field I am pleased to see the white clover making its best showing in several years. I know this may drive some lawn snobs crazy but the white clover in yards was planted on purpose years ago and it just has that look of yesteryear. I have even read articles of people wanting to go back to planting clover in the lawn. Hey, I like it and if you don’t “GET OFF MY LAWN”
Rob, is that a Kohler? I think a friend of mine mentioned having to put a new coil in a Kohler powered lawn mower. Coincidence or do they have a quality issue with the coils they’re using.Rob R. wrote: ↑Sat. May. 30, 2020 8:22 amLawn mower news - I had my first breakdown with my 2011 John Deere zero turn. I use a conservation mix also for my yard, it’s all sloped. And poor soil conditions..
This is what I did Saturday.
I started a YouTube channel a little while ago, we’ll see where it leads.

Guess I will weigh in late. Ran the boat for the Grands Sat. and left 7 am Sun morning on the Goldwing. Went up to Cherokee NC and met the brother and went over the Smokey Mt. Parkway to Gatlinburg and on to Pigeon Forge for lunch. Then we parted ways and my wife and I went down the Foothills Parkway to the exit of the Tail of the Dragon and made our way back to home by country roads....Took about 11 hours and covered 388 miles. Wife handled it well, I had a few moments, like the guy that just turned into me in traffic in Gatlinburg....Good first long run on the bike, I still need to work on the slow speed handling.....
