Two tornado touched down less than 2 miles from my home here. They were about 40 minutes later than further West over at Larry's.
We could hear local tornado very well here but they rode along one hollow over from us and crossed to our side of the ridge 2 miles away...EF 1 (90mph) and a EF 0 (75mph)
Today , Friday at 5:00 PM seen that the utilities were still piecing things back together. State route a bit further out was closed for all day Thursday at pathway crossing for roadway clean-up.
Never lost our power other than some surges on and off early on in the lightening storm.
We're prepared though should a power loss occur.
I'm back online!

And yes we were, multiple friends and family in the path of a large tornado that struck our old neighborhood. Quite a scene right now. Preparing to volunteer to go out with my chainsaw and Maine country bumpkin skills to help. Everyone in my immediate and extended family are safe.

Been an eventful day, the sons inlaws and friends of mine from Maine are still stuck in their home, tree on the roof. It is a war zone....I am going in probably with a crew to help clear damage. Pics of me on FB clearing a monster oak laid across a house on the Ga/Tn state line....then went to a friends and cleared another from his yard. I am going to be busy volunteering for a week I would guess. Knew those logger skills would come back into play someday!

Strong back, weak mind. Got a chainsaw and a pole saw.....go to work. This happened Sunday and the only way the people got out was to cut themselves out. Not a power pole standing, wires are everywhere. TODAY guys showed up and asked if everyone was alright....The roads are one way! Jammed with debris and transformers and wires....but they close them down for the power workers even though there are almost zero homes that have wires to them! Idiots need to clean up the roads and wires, keep the idiot gawkers out, and then rebuild the infrastructure.....Thats very nice of you to help them out Klook.
