Oh crap! I love that man! A writer among writers. One of the most entertaining concerts I ever went to was his with Paul Thorn opening. He can make you laugh and cry a minute apart... get well soon!

John Prine means a lot to me and my wife. We sang his songs from memory as we crossed the country as we traveled on our motorcycle for <6000 miles on our honeymoon. No radio, just voices and wind noise Kate had the lyrics on paper but the papers blew out of her jacket pocket along the way. Can't tell you how many times we sang Grandpa Was a Carpenter.
Coalheat and Smitty have been emailing about loosing Joe Diffe for the same reason. This is a bad one people. Walk around the old cemeteries and see all those stones dated 1918. There was an estimate in the 1990'a stating 25-35 million died due to the spanish flu. Hang on and take care, this might be a long rough ride.

This guy is a tremendous artist , His plight is one of the subject of the quarantine, to lose folks like him and many others will be a national loss, does America have it in us to win this Battle? My grandmother had 11 children , 4 died during the 1918 epidemic in Philadelphia. Stanislaw Elana, Josephat, Jonas.

His wife made a statement today that he is stable, still critical but stable. She had it last week but has recovered.

What a shame. The remark was made that he was the Mark Twain of music. RIP John and condolences to his family.
